Harrison Ford Celebrates Marriage and Career at 2026 Actor Awards
Harrison Ford expressed his deep appreciation for his wife, Calista Flockhart, during the 2026 Actor Awards held in Los Angeles on March 1. The renowned actor, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony, dedicated a significant portion of his acceptance speech to honor Flockhart, highlighting their successful union over the past 15 years.
Speaking with E! News on the red carpet, Ford shared a fundamental principle that underpins their relationship: “I don’t tell my wife what to do." This statement underscored his respect for Flockhart’s autonomy and individuality.
When asked about the possibility of Flockhart appearing in his Apple TV series, Shrinking, Ford remarked, "That would be up to her," further emphasizing his supportive attitude toward her decisions.
In his heartfelt speech upon receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, Ford noted the dual nature of his work: “Sometimes we make entertainment; sometimes we make art. Sometimes we’re lucky to make ’em both at the same time, and if we’re really fortunate, we also get to make a living doing it. I’m indeed a lucky guy.” He went on to thank his "extraordinary, beautiful wife" and family for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Ford and Flockhart have been a couple since 2002, marrying eight years later in 2010. Their romance began in a memorable fashion at the Golden Globes, where Ford made an impression on Flockhart by accidentally spilling wine on her dress. This lighthearted moment proved to be a significant turning point in their relationship.
Reflecting on love in a 2003 interview, Ford described romantic love as “one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love,” reiterating the potential for such feelings at any stage of life.
After seven years of dating, Ford proposed to Flockhart on Valentine’s Day in 2009. Following their marriage, he adopted her son, Liam, from a previous relationship, thus blending their families seamlessly.
As Ford continues to thrive both personally and professionally, his enduring love for Flockhart remains a cornerstone of his life.
