Halle Berry Shares a Memorable Moment with Bryan Singer on the ‘X-Men’ Set
Over two decades since her role as Storm in *X2* (2003), Halle Berry reflects on a pivotal moment that marked her tenure in the *X-Men* franchise. The Oscar-winning actress recently recounted an encounter with director Bryan Singer, expressing satisfaction over confronting him about his on-set behavior.
In an interview with *Entertainment Weekly*, Berry recalled the atmosphere on set, revealing that fellow cast members encouraged her to speak out. “Everybody was mad, but they all said to me, ‘Halle, you go tell ’em,’ because they knew I would,” she stated. “And it’s one of the greatest days on a set, telling someone who was wronging the entire crew, the entire cast, exactly where to go. And then I got on a plane and flew home with my X-Men suit on.”
Berry further added, “I’m sorry, that guy deserved it.”

Singer had a significant impact on the *X-Men* franchise, directing *X-Men* (2000) and *X2* (2003), before returning for *X-Men: Days of Future Past* (2014) and *X-Men: Apocalypse* (2016).

Singer’s most recent credit is *Bohemian Rhapsody* (2018), a project he exited during production due to conflicts with star Rami Malek.
Berry has expressed disappointment over not reuniting with her *X-Men* co-stars in the upcoming Russo Brothers film *Avengers: Doomsday*. However, she stated she would return to the franchise “in a heartbeat” for future projects involving her character.
Following her last role as Storm in *Days of Future Past*, several of her former co-stars, including Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), are set to reprise their roles in *Avengers: Doomsday*, which is scheduled for release on December 18.
Director Jake Schreier, who is overseeing the upcoming *X-Men* reboot, previously discussed the project’s development. “I can’t say anything about it, but we’ve started work on X-Men, and that’s obviously very, very exciting,” he mentioned in an interview with *Empire* in August.
