De Laurentiis Prepares for Milan Trip
Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis is gearing up for an upcoming trip to Milan with NBC’s Today, where she will serve as a correspondent. The trip coincides with the Winter Olympics, and De Laurentiis has received a special package of clothing from Ralph Lauren designed for the occasion.
In a recent Instagram video shared on February 2, De Laurentiis showcased the items, expressing excitement as she tried on a navy pom-pom hat. Her teenage daughter, Jade, humorously remarked that she planned to "steal" the matching sweater.
“I got a really fun box today and Jade’s gonna look at it with me,” De Laurentiis said, highlighting the package containing Olympic-themed gear. While Jade expressed disappointment about not being invited on the trip, her mother pointedly reminded her that she had declined the invitation due to school commitments. “Jadie, I’m so bummed you’re not coming with me,” De Laurentiis lamented.
“Didn’t cop the invite,” Jade shot back with a playful wink, to which De Laurentiis responded, “Yes, I gave you the invite. You said you had school.”
De Laurentiis assured her followers that she would take them along on the journey, exclaiming, "It’s gonna be awesome. We’re just gonna miss Jadey. Go Team USA!"

De Laurentiis, author of the Super-Italian cookbook, also shared culinary plans for her time in Milan. She aims to lead a food tour that will encompass making fresh pasta, savoring local specialties including osso buco and risotto alla Milanese, and teaching anchors how to cook.
The chef expressed anticipation for her trip to the Dolomites mountain range, reflecting on her childhood memories of skiing there. “I grew up skiing and I grew up going to Cortina and going to the Alps to ski and the Dolomites with my family, and it’s a big tradition,” she remarked.
Meanwhile, Jade is preparing to embark on her own journey, heading to New York University in the fall. De Laurentiis spoke about the emotional transition this represents, noting, “That moment of being a mom is sort of done.” While she acknowledged that Jade would still come home for holidays, De Laurentiis also felt the impending shift in their day-to-day relationship.
“It’s really exciting, but I think it’s also incredibly emotional because everything I do with her I feel like is one of the last times I’m going to do it in this way,” she said.
