Carson Beck’s ascent from Jacksonville youth leagues to becoming the starting quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes has been greatly influenced by his parents, Chris and Tracy Beck.
After establishing himself with the University of Georgia Bulldogs, Carson transferred to the University of Miami in 2025. He will lead the Hurricanes against Ole Miss in the NCAA College Football Playoffs on January 8.
Beyond his impressive performances on the field, Carson has emerged as one of college football’s top earners in the new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) era, securing lucrative deals with brands such as Beats by Dre and Chipotle, as reported by Front Office Sports.
Despite the accolades, Chris Beck expressed that his pride in Carson goes beyond statistics. “I am so proud of him, the man he’s become, the teammate he’s become on and off the field,” Chris told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in October 2024. “He’s a selfless leader, humbled, and loves the process and hard work it takes to be successful. He loves the men in that locker room. Time to have fun and enjoy the moment.”
The emotional stakes are high for his parents. Tracy has been known to experience stress during games, once recounting an instance when Carson reassured her, “Mom, don’t ever be nervous. I’ve got this.”

Chris Beck’s sports background laid the foundation for Carson’s athletic journey. As a three-year letterman at the U.S. Naval Academy in the early 1990s, Chris played linebacker before injury curtailed his playing career.
He remained involved in football, coaching Carson for nearly a decade through local youth leagues, including the Pablo Creek Saints. Carson initially mirrored his father’s journey as a linebacker before finding his niche as a quarterback.

Tracy Beck is also a notable figure in her own right, having danced professionally for the NBA’s Washington Bullets (now the Wizards) after performing with the University of Maryland’s dance team. She met Chris in Annapolis, where they eventually married and later divorced.

The Becks have two children, Carson and his younger sister, Kylie. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Kylie has danced as part of the Georgia Bulldogs cheerleading squad and performed with the Dance Dawgs during UGA basketball games.
When Carson transferred to Miami, Kylie took the opportunity to reflect on her time at Georgia, sharing, “I am thankful that I’ve been able to call Athens my home for the past five years, traveling to games to support my brother.”
### A Bond Strengthened by Tragedy

The bond between Carson and Chris deepened following a tragic incident. Carson marked his cleat with the letters “LLD” for his best friend Dom Allmond, who died in a car accident in August 2018. Following this loss, both father and son found comfort in honoring their friends’ memories together.
“Having those cleats, we are going to keep those for life,” Chris said, highlighting the significance of their shared experience.

Tracy leads a vibrant support community known as “Beck’s Brigade,” formed by friends and family who gather on game days. Known for their spirited presence, adorned in custom “Beck 15” denim jackets, they bolster Carson’s game-day experience with enthusiasm.
Tracy expressed gratitude for the support of this community, stating, “Not just Carson but it is hard to be the quarterback’s Mom. It is so fun and so exciting but you lose a lot of sleep. You pray a lot. There’s just all there to kind of lift us in every moment. Good or bad. It meant a lot.”
