Get to Know the Cast of Nicolas Curcio’s Horror Film Play House, Featuring Will Harrison, Jessica Sula, Jordan Gonzalez, and James Urbaniak
Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath Join Forces for New Micro-Budget Horror Film "Play House"
Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer, known for their work on the M3GAN films and Heart Eyes, are set to executive produce Play House, a micro-budget horror movie directed by Nicolas Curcio. The film will feature an ensemble cast that includes Will Harrison (Daisy Jones & The Six), Jessica Sula (Split), Jordan Gonzalez (The Long Walk), and James Urbaniak (Oppenheimer).
Currently in production in Los Angeles, Play House follows Elliot, a man who purchases a dilapidated house in hopes of demonstrating his maturity to his ex. As he begins to renovate the property, he discovers VHS tapes of an unreleased children’s television show hidden in the basement. What initially seems like a troubling DIY kids’ program soon draws him into a spiral of obsession and madness, hinting that both the tapes and the house harbor a dark past.
The film was the first recipient of the Fantastic Pitches initiative, a program designed to support micro-budget genre films, organized by Fantastic Fest and Chroma. The initiative provided the team with $100,000 in production financing, selected by a jury that included filmmaker Matt Johnson (Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie), genre icon Barbara Crampton, and filmmaker Toby Poser (Hellbender, Mother of Flies).
Curcio directs the film from a script co-written with Kirby Gladstein. The production team includes Ben Gojer, Jack Forbes, and Derek Tramont, while Nina Millin (Grey’s Anatomy) and Kevin Keppy (Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities) complete the cast.
Will Harrison, notable for his lead role in Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six, has also recently appeared in Hulu’s Murdaugh: Death in the Family and James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown. He was last seen on Broadway in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright James Graham’s Punch.
Jessica Sula, a Welsh-born actor, will next play LaToya Jackson in the upcoming biopic Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua for Lionsgate. Her credits also include Amazon’s Panic, Netflix’s Godless, M. Night Shyamalan’s Split, and the horror film Malum.
Jordan Gonzalez, recently seen alongside Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson in Lionsgate’s The Long Walk, was previously a series regular on Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and had a recurring role on Showtime’s The L-Word: Generation Q.
James Urbaniak, recognized for his roles in Oppenheimer, The Fabelmans, and Where’d You Go, Bernadette?, has several projects coming up, including Every Heavy Thing, Puddysticks, and Grind.
Founded in 2013, Divide/Conquer has produced over 30 feature films, including M3GAN and its sequel, Universal’s Freaky, and Netflix’s Cam. The company recently entered into a first-look deal with Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, with Doomtown slated as its initial project under the agreement.
Nina Millin is represented by Vanguard Management Group, while Kevin Keppy is represented by RPM Talent and Nicolas Curcio by UTA.
