Get to Know Paul Simon’s Four Children: Harper, Adrian, Lulu, and Gabriel

Paul Simon, the iconic singer-songwriter, is the father of four adult children: Harper, Adrian, Lulu, and Gabriel. Simon has been married three times, having children with both his first wife, Peggy Harper, and his third wife, Edie Brickell.

Simon and Harper welcomed their son, Harper, in 1972, shortly before their divorce in 1975. Subsequently, Simon was in a high-profile relationship with actress Carrie Fisher, marrying her briefly in 1983 before their divorce the following year. In 1992, he married Edie Brickell, with whom he had three children: Adrian, Lulu, and Gabriel.

Although Simon is known for keeping his family life private, each of his children has forged their own unique paths. Following Simon’s recent announcement of hearing loss in his left ear, he commented, “My generation’s time is up,” suggesting a potential shift where his children may take more prominent roles in the spotlight.

Harper James Simon, 53

Born on September 7, 1972, Harper followed in his father’s musical footsteps as a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. He studied music at the Berklee College of Music but left after two years. He began performing in New York City clubs before moving to England to play with the band Menlo Park. Harper released his self-titled album in 2010 and a second album, Division Street, in 2013.

Beyond music, he has contributed as a journalist, with work featured in outlets such as Spin and the Los Angeles Review of Books. He also published a book titled Meditations on Crime in 2023, maintaining a private personal life away from social media.

Adrian Edward Simon, 33

Adrian Edward Simon was born on December 28, 1992, in New York City. He wrote his first song at age nine and performed on his father’s song "Father and Daughter," which was nominated for an Academy Award. Adrian has been a part of his father’s tours and has released his own music under the pseudonym Ade, including the album Midnight Pizza in 2021 and an EP called Junk in Orbit in 2022.

He continues to keep much of his personal life private but shares snippets of his work occasionally on social media.

Lulu Belle Simon, 30

Born in March 1995, Lulu Belle Simon grew up surrounded by musical influences. She has released her debut EP, Lulu Simon, in 2019. Lulu has shared insights about her childhood and how she and her family often created music together, calling her siblings and parents a source of inspiration.

In addition to singing, she learned piano and taught herself guitar, often penning songs in private. Lulu’s catalog includes three singles and an additional EP titled Muscle Memory, with plans for future releases ahead.

Gabriel Elijah Simon, 27

Gabriel Elijah Simon, born in May 1998, is the youngest of the Simon siblings. He pursued music during his studies at Brown University, where he released his debut album, Mr. Adrian Goes to Kihei, under the name Dogmanjones in 2019.

Together, the Simon children continue to carve their own distinct identities while being influenced by their father’s legendary musical legacy.
