Paul McCartney, renowned for his legacy as a member of The Beatles, holds a cherished role as "Dad" to his five children: Heather, Mary, Stella, James, and Beatrice.
"I love being a dad," McCartney expressed in a 2009 interview with The Telegraph, underscoring the importance of fatherhood in his life.
The iconic musician first embraced fatherhood in 1969 when he married photographer Linda Eastman. He adopted Heather, Linda’s daughter from a previous marriage, and later welcomed Mary, Stella, and James. Linda passed away from breast cancer in 1998, profoundly impacting McCartney, who later revealed to the BBC that he "cried for a year" following her death. In 2002, he married Heather Mills and had their youngest child, Beatrice, born in 2003. However, McCartney and Mills separated when Beatrice was just three years old.
In 2011, McCartney married Nancy Shevell. As of February 2023, he reflected on the evolution of his relationship with his kids. "I’ve always just tried to give my kids a bit of guidance if they seem to need it — but that was mainly when they were younger," he shared on his website. "Now that they are older, they’re guiding me!"
He added, "You’re just there to help, and I suppose have fun with — we do have a lot of fun. Now they’re older, we can have a drink together."

Heather pursued a creative path, initially studying printing and later becoming an accomplished potter. She founded her own business, Heather McCartney Designs. In 1999, McCartney attended the launch of her brand in Atlanta—his first public appearance in the U.S. after Linda’s death.
Reflecting on her inspirations, Heather credits her parents and siblings, stating, "My mom and dad. My brother and sisters, completely."
