Former New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter, along with his wife, Hannah Davis Jeter, is enjoying life as a family of six. The couple, who married in 2016, is raising four children: daughters Bella Raine, 8, Story Grey, 7, River Rose, 4, and son Kaius, welcomed in May 2023.
Although their children did not witness Jeter’s illustrious career, they have supported him during recent milestones, including his retirement and induction into the Hall of Fame.
The Jeters prioritize privacy for their children, opting to keep family life largely out of the public eye. Hannah Jeter addressed this choice in a 2019 interview with Editorialist, saying, “Social media has never felt natural to me. When you love something so much, you want to protect it more than anything in the world. And for me, that’s my relationship, that’s my kids.”

Although Jeter occasionally shares glimpses of his home life, he keeps images of their children to a minimum. He expressed that “every day is something new” and that he is proud of the “little moments” but rarely documents them online. In a February 2023 appearance on The Tonight Show, he referred to his experience as a father of daughters as “controlled chaos.”
“It’s school pick-ups, drop-offs; they do my nails, my toenails, makeup, lipstick. It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced though, my girls. They are the absolute best,” he said.
With the birth of Kaius, Jeter’s role has expanded. He shared that raising a son is a new experience for him: “It’s been different for me because I have a younger sister and then we had three girls. So having a boy is a little different for me, but he’s been great so far.”
Here’s a closer look at Derek Jeter’s children.

The couple announced their first pregnancy through a heartfelt essay written by Hannah for The Players’ Tribune, in which she expressed her hopes for the bond between Derek and their children. She stated, “We want our kids’ lives to be as ‘normal’ as possible. They’re going to be born into such an extraordinary situation. We don’t want them to be defined by their dad’s name – for them, we want him to just be ‘Dad.’”
Bella Raine was born on August 17, 2017, and has rarely appeared in the media. However, she participated with her family during Jeter’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Yankee Stadium in 2022.
In videos shared online, Bella expressed excitement about trying stadium food during the event. During a recent segment, Jeter mentioned Bella’s budding interest in tennis, sharing that she took lessons starting at age four.

Story Grey Jeter was born on January 31, 2019. The couple revealed this pregnancy after Hannah was photographed in New York City with a visible baby bump. While Derek has embraced his “Girl Dad” title, he enjoys playful interactions with Story and her sisters, often involving dress-up and beauty routines.
During public appearances, Story has displayed charming hesitance about her father’s baseball legacy, notably during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony where she expressed concerns about playing baseball herself.
