Get a First Look at Nicole Wallace and Alfonso Herrera in Prime Video’s Adaptation of Isabel Allende’s “The House of the Spirits”
Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming epic family saga, The House of the Spirits, marking the first television adaptation of Isabel Allende’s renowned novel.
The narrative draws inspiration from Allende’s family history and significant Chilean political events, particularly the 1973 coup that led to the overthrow of her uncle, Salvador Allende.
This eight-episode Spanish-language series chronicles the lives of three generations of women—Clara, Blanca, and Alba—in a conservative South American country shaped by class struggles, political turmoil, and magical elements. It tells the poignant story of a proud family entangled in secret loves and the violence of revolution. The Trueba family’s passions and struggles unfold against a backdrop of a century marked by social upheaval, culminating in a crisis that drives the patriarch and his cherished granddaughter toward opposing paths.
Isabel Allende, along with Eva Longoria and Courtney Saladino, serves as executive producers. The show is helmed by showrunners Francisca Alegría (The Cow Who Sang a Song Into the Future), Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho), and Andrés Wood (News of a Kidnapping).
The House of the Spirits is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on April 29, available in over 240 countries and territories. The first three episodes will launch on the debut date, with subsequent episodes released weekly, concluding with the final three episodes on May 13.
