Gabriel LaBelle Talks About His Favorite Stunt Moments in Dempsey Bryk’s Film “Crash Land”
Two Amateur Stuntmen Attempt to Prove Their Worth in New Film
In a unique exploration of passion and ambition, Crash Land, directed and written by Dempsey Bryk, follows the journey of two amateur stuntmen who set out to create a “real movie” to assert the significance of their lives. However, their enthusiastic attempts quickly lead to unexpected challenges.
The film features a talented cast, including Bryk himself, Finn Wolfhard, Abby Quinn, Billy Bryk, Noah Parker, and Gabriel LaBelle. LaBelle highlighted the innovative filming techniques used in production, stating, “We don’t do any of the real stunts. We had these incredible stunt performers who look exactly like us.” He emphasized the authenticity of the footage, noting, “So much of the movie was shot on camcorders, and we would do these real classic cowboy switches… It really looks authentic, that it is us on these camcorders, and that was my favorite part.”
The mix of humor and heartfelt moments makes Crash Land a compelling narrative about the lengths individuals will go to find meaning in their lives. As the protagonists navigate their aspirations, audiences are in for a ride filled with both creativity and chaos.
