Frankenstein Tops Nominations for Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards, Outshining Wicked: For Good and Others

Netflix’s Frankenstein, helmed by acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro, leads the nominations for the 2026 Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) Awards with four nominations. Following closely are Universal’s Wicked: For Good and Warner Bros’ Sinners, One Battle After Another and Weapons, each receiving three nominations from the guild.

In the television categories, Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 5, NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars lead the pack, each securing four nominations. Streaming giant Netflix’s additional offerings, Wednesday and Monster: The Ed Gein Story, are also recognized with three nominations each.

The winners will be celebrated at the 13th annual MUAHS Awards on Saturday, February 14, at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles. A complete list of nominees is available below.

Netflix topped the nomination list with a total of 20 nominations, significantly outpacing HBO Max, which garnered 14 nominations, 11 of which it shares with Warner Bros Pictures.

Presented by IATSE Local 706, the MUAHS Awards recognize exceptional achievements in the artistry of makeup artists and hairstylists. This year, nominations span 20 categories covering film, television, music videos, and live stage productions—including Broadway and international theater.

Since the inception of the modern MUAHS Awards in 2014, one of the marquee film winners for makeup or hair has secured the Best Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar every year except two, one of which occurred in 2025. In that year, the Academy Award went to Poor Things, which was nominated for two guild awards but did not win. Additionally, in 2022, The Eyes of Tammy Faye won the Oscar while being shut out at the MUAHS.
