François Arnaud from ‘Heated Rivalry’ Shines in New Film ‘Someone’s Daughter’ as EFM Sales Begin
EXCLUSIVE: Following his role as Scott Hunter in the popular series Heated Rivalry, François Arnaud stars in the upcoming film Someone’s Daughter. The Canadian production company Filmoption plans to launch the film for worldwide sales at this week’s European Film Market in Berlin.
The survival thriller, directed and written by Wiebke von Carolsfeld in collaboration with Doug Taylor, has recently completed production.
Arnaud, recognized for his performance in The Borgias, stars alongside Canadian actress Pascale Bussières, Michael Greyeyes, and Peter Outerbridge.
The film narrates the story of Sam, a criminal defense lawyer in her 50s, who is kidnapped and left on a remote island with Paul, a former client she defended against accusations of raping the kidnapper’s daughter a decade prior. As the two navigate their harsh surroundings in the Canadian wilderness, they develop a complex bond. However, Paul’s increasingly erratic behavior forces Sam into a harrowing dilemma.
Produced by Frederic Bohbot and Kacim Steets Azouz, the film boasts Robert Vroom as its executive producer.
Von Carolsfeld’s previous works include Marion Bridge, featuring Molly Parker and Elliot Page; Stay, which stars Taylor Schilling, Aidan Quinn, and Barry Keoghan; and The Saver, starring Imajyn Cardinal.
