Foo Fighters Perform New Songs ‘Caught in the Echo’ and ‘Child Actor’ Live on SNL UK
Trending on Billboard
The new episode of SNL UK featured Foo Fighters’ first live performance of their recently released album, Your Favorite Toy, on Saturday night, April 25.
During their appearance, the band opened with the energetic track “Caught in the Echo,” which serves as the lead single from their twelfth studio album.
The Foo Fighters returned later in the evening to perform “Child Actor,” a poignant song from the latter half of their new record. In this track, frontman Dave Grohl reflects on the experience of growing up under public scrutiny. He sings about childhood fame, stating, “I was a child actor, a face on a wall/ Holding my breath as I wait for the curtain to fall.” The lyrics also convey a yearning for privacy, with Grohl repeating the plea, “Turn the cameras off, turn the cameras off.”
This episode of SNL UK was hosted by actress Nicola Coughlan, who engaged in a humorous skit with special guest Jimmy Fallon. Fallon encouraged Coughlan to approach Grohl and ask him to be her best friend, humorously noting, “We’re live. He has to say yes.”
Your Favorite Toy follows Foo Fighters’ 2023 release, But Here We Are, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. The band is set to commence their tour on April 28 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
