Flea Shares Exciting News About His New Album Honora and Collaborates with Thom Yorke on “Traffic Lights” – Listen Now
Flea, the acclaimed bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has officially announced the release of his debut solo album, Honora, set to drop on March 27th through Nonesuch Records. This announcement comes alongside plans for a 2026 international tour. As a teaser, he has released the single “Traffic Lights,” featuring contributions from Thom Yorke in vocals, piano, and synth.
Honora is a tribute to a cherished family member, showcasing Flea’s talents on both trumpet and bass while he also composed and arranged the music. He collaborated with producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Deantoni Parks. Notably, outside vocal contributions come from Flea, Yorke, and fellow musician Nick Cave.
The album features six original tracks along with interpretations of songs by notable artists such as George Clinton, Eddie Hazel, Jimmy Webb, Frank Ocean, Shea Taylor, and Ann Ronell.
In addition to the album announcement, Flea has outlined tour dates for this upcoming spring. The tour will kick off on May 7th in Chicago and conclude on May 28th in Paris, with additional shows scheduled in cities including Toronto, New York City, and Los Angeles. Tickets will be available to the public starting January 23rd at 10:00 a.m. local time.
"Traffic Lights" offers a smooth, mid-tempo groove reminiscent of the music from Hey Arnold!. The combination of trumpets, soft drums, and Yorke’s ethereal voice provides a compelling preview of what listeners can expect from the album. This release follows his earlier single, “A Plea,” which debuted in early December.
