Firefighters Rescue Dog from Sherman Oaks House Fire
LOS ANGELES – A family in Sherman Oaks is celebrating a heartfelt reunion after firefighters saved their dog during a house fire on Wednesday night. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the blaze just after 8:30 p.m. on West Rhinestone Drive, where flames ignited from a pine tree and downed power lines, quickly spreading to an attached garage.
During the emergency, the family’s dog went missing, creating concern as thick smoke filled the area. Fortunately, firefighters located the dog unharmed and swiftly reunited it with its grateful owners.
The fire was extinguished within approximately half an hour, and no injuries were reported. While the family has been reunited, fire crews are conducting a thorough assessment of the damage to ensure the safety of the structure.
The LAFD is ongoing with an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fallen power lines and the subsequent fire. Utility workers are expected to be present in the neighborhood to repair the damaged electrical infrastructure.
