Finn Wolfhard and Gabriel LaBelle Lead in New Stunt Comedy Crash Land
Finn Wolfhard, known for his role in Stranger Things, and Gabriel LaBelle from The Fabelmans, have completed filming for their lead roles in Crash Land, the debut feature of writer-director Dempsey Bryk.
Described as a darkly humorous coming-of-age story, Crash Land follows a group of amateur stuntmen from a small town who engage in reckless behavior, including drinking and filming outrageous stunts reminiscent of Jackass. The screenplay was developed by Bryk in collaboration with Ben Snider-McGrath.
The cast also features Abby Quinn (I’m Thinking of Ending Things), Billy Bryk (Friendship), and Noah Parker (Who By Fire). Production is led by Billy Bryk, Dempsey Bryk, Wolfhard, and Julian Geneen, with financial backing from Ursa Major Entertainment, Elevation Pictures, and Redlab. Executive producers for the film include Matthew Miller and Matt Johnson from Zapruder Films, Charles Cohen, LaBelle, and members of Ursa Major, including Jasmin Kar, Sam Sutcliffe, and Dias Tobizarov.
For Kid Brother, the production company founded by Wolfhard and Billy Bryk, Crash Land serves as a follow-up to their previous film, Hell of a Summer, a horror comedy that was acquired by Neon after its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
Dempsey Bryk, brother of Billy, has garnered recognition for his acting roles in various projects, including Prime Video’s We Were Liars and Disney+’s Willow. He is represented by Buchwald, Canopy Media Partners, The Characters Talent Agency, and Bloch Law.
Finn Wolfhard, poised for the release of the first part of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, was also recently featured in A24’s The Legend of Ochi and Sony’s Saturday Night. His representation includes CAA, Venture Entertainment Partners, and Karl Austen of Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Since gaining fame from his role in The Fabelmans, Gabriel LaBelle has appeared in Saturday Night, Snack Shack, and Showtime’s American Gigolo. Most recently, he was seen in Hulu’s Chad Powers.
