Federal Authorities Conduct Search at LAUSD Superintendent’s Home and Office
Federal authorities confirmed that an active search is underway at the residence and office of Alberto Carvalho, Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Law enforcement officers executed a search warrant Wednesday morning, according to multiple sources.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) acknowledged the search, while other law enforcement officials indicated that it is occurring at Carvalho’s office as well as his home in San Pedro. Specific details surrounding the search remain limited at this time.
An affidavit supporting the search operation has been filed but is currently sealed, limiting the information available.
Carvalho has been at the helm of LAUSD since February 2022 and received unanimous reappointment from the school board last year. Prior to his role in Los Angeles, he served as the head of Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 14 years.
