Eve Myles, Rory Kinnear, Eleanor Tomlinson, and David Thewlis to Star in Channel 4’s Wrong Move
Eve Myles, Rory Kinnear, Eleanor Tomlinson, and David Thewlis are set to headline Channel 4’s upcoming comic thriller, Wrong Move. The series, created by Ben Edwards, also features an ensemble cast including David Bradley, Austin Haynes, Daisy Morgan, Gwyneth Keyworth, Ali Khan, Evia Kaisi, Ray Fearon, Paul Bazely, Laura Elsworth, and Alex McQueen.
Produced by Roughcut Television, Wrong Move is currently filming in Yorkshire, UK. Edwards, known for his work on Coma, serves as the writer and creator of the series, while Roughcut executives Ash Atalla and Alex Jones are the executive producers. Rebecca Davies is producing, and Rene Pannevis is directing. International distribution rights are held by Fremantle.
The narrative of Wrong Move centers on the complicated lives of individuals navigating the property market, exploring the misguided belief that moving house can solve all problems. The story follows three couples caught in a property-buying chain that descends into chaos when the lead buyer decides to withdraw just before the deals finalize.
Thewlis plays Trevor, a dangerous psychopath detective sergeant whose impulsive actions disrupt the entire housing deal, leaving chaos in his wake. Bradley portrays Arthur, Trevor’s father.
Kinnear takes on the role of Michael, who grapples with frustration as the homebuying process unravels, while Myles plays his wife, who clings to the hope that securing their “forever home” will mend their marriage. Haynes and Morgan portray their children, while Tomlinson plays Stella, who is preparing for the birth of her first child alongside her partner, Juliette, portrayed by Keyworth.
Channel 4 commissioned Wrong Move from the makers of Stath Lets Flats and Little Disasters in February.
