Eve Celebrates 26-Year Journey with Grammy Win for ‘You Got Me’
In a significant recognition of her contributions to the music industry, Eve was honored on Thursday night at the Recording Academy Honors, presented by the Black Music Collective. This event marked a long-awaited acknowledgment of her work dating back to 1998.
Eve recorded a verse for The Roots’ track “You Got Me,” yet she was not credited for her participation. Consequently, when the song won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 2000, Eve’s contributions went unrecognized due to her omission from the official credits.
Now, 26 years later, she has finally received the recognition she deserves, highlighting the ongoing evolution of accountability and recognition in the music industry.
