ESPN Jeopardy! Coming to Disney+ and Hulu, Hosted by Joe Buck
The Jeopardy! franchise is set to expand with the announcement of a new sports-themed spinoff, ESPN Jeopardy!, produced by Sony Pictures Television. The show will be hosted by Emmy-winning broadcaster Joe Buck and is confirmed to stream on both Disney+ and Hulu, with a premiere date yet to be announced.
In this unique iteration, ESPN talent will compete as contestants, each representing a charity of their choice. The participants will face off in a tournament-style format for a grand prize of $500,000 and the title of ESPN Jeopardy! champion.
Described as Jeopardy! for sports enthusiasts, the show will feature material spanning the full range of ESPN content. According to Sony, contestants will "experience the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat in a new arena: the Alex Trebek Stage."
ESPN Jeopardy! will join several other adaptations of the beloved quiz show, including Celebrity Jeopardy! on ABC, the main daily show hosted by Ken Jennings, Pop Culture Jeopardy!—now in its second season on Netflix—and the recently launched Jeopardy! YouTube Edition, also hosted by Jennings.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and executive-produced by Michael Davies, ESPN Jeopardy! reflects the show’s enduring versatility.
Joe Buck, along with longtime partner Troy Aikman, transitioned to ESPN in 2022 under a multiyear deal to serve as play-by-play announcers for Monday Night Football. The duo has garnered significant accolades over their two-decade partnership, including multiple Sports Emmy Awards, with Buck winning eight times for his play-by-play work. In December 2022, he was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame. This past season, Buck, Aikman, and sideline reporter Lisa Salters received the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Live Sports Series.
