Enjoy Free Car Entry to California State Parks on Martin Luther King Day: What You Need to Know
Free Parking at California State Parks on Martin Luther King Day
Visitors to California’s state parks and beaches will enjoy free parking on Martin Luther King Day, January 15, 2024, as announced by California State Parks. This initiative allows one passenger vehicle, accommodating up to nine individuals, to access over 200 participating state parks without charge.
The complimentary vehicle entry is supported by the California State Parks Foundation, which also facilitates the California State Library Parks Pass program. This program enables library cardholders to borrow a free vehicle pass for state parks.
However, some sites that typically charge for tours, such as Hearst Castle, will not be part of the Martin Luther King Day offer and may still require a fee for entry.
For a detailed list of state parks participating in the free parking initiative, visitors can refer to the California State Parks website.
