The remaining members of ENHYPEN have come forward with a collective statement following the unexpected departure of HEESEUNG. The group addressed fans on X on Tuesday, March 10, striving to offer reassurance during a tumultuous time.
Just hours after BELIFT LAB announced HEESEUNG’s decision to leave the boy band after six years, members JUNGWON, JAY, JAKE, SUNGHOON, SUNOO, and NI-KI expressed their shared sentiments. “We bet you were really shocked seeing today’s announcement,” they stated, pointing out their primary concern for how “ENGENE would think.” The translated message conveyed their empathy, adding, “Seeing ENGENE worry and struggle is the greatest pain for us.” They continued, “The time we’ve spent together up until now is precious beyond words. That’s why we respect and support HEESEUNG hyung’s choice and new beginning that we’ve shared all this time.”
Early Tuesday, fans were taken aback when BELIFT LAB released a detailed statement revealing that HEESEUNG would be “parting ways” with ENHYPEN to pursue solo ventures. The message explained, “It’s difficult to relay the whole process through a short notice, but this decision comes after extensive deliberation. We understand that this news is a lot to process and may be received with mixed reactions. Nevertheless, we hope you understand that this decision was made for the future of ENHYPEN and HEESEUNG.”
In a message posted on Weverse, HEESEUNG shared that he chose to follow “the direction the company suggested” for his solo career after careful consideration.
The departure has sparked significant concern among ENGENE, with some fans speculating about possible pressures leading to HEESEUNG’s exit. There is widespread sadness regarding the changes in ENHYPEN’s lineup, which the group addressed in their statement: “To ease ENGENE’s worries even a little and create happy days for ENGENE every day, we ENHYPEN will grow even more from now on.”
The group concluded their message with a commitment to their fans, stating, “Anytime, anywhere, we’ll become stronger and never forget our gratitude. We’re always thankful and we love you, ENGENE.”
