Emma Stone’s Cardigan Choice at the 2026 Actor Awards Sparks Mixed Reactions
Emma Stone’s SAG-AFTRA Cardigan Garners Mixed Reactions from Fans
Emma Stone turned heads at the 32nd Annual SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards, where her choice of a shimmery cardigan drew a range of responses from fans. The actress, 37, attended the event on March 1, wearing a lilac Louis Vuitton beaded slip dress accompanied by a matching cardigan.
While some admirers praised Stone’s unique style, others expressed their preference for a more streamlined look. “The dress is cute, I prefer that it wasn’t styled with the jacket and maybe with a different hairstyle,” one Instagram user commented. Another fan remarked, “The color is out of this world on her, but, a cardigan? On a red carpet? I mean, yes to comfort, I guess?” A third critic succinctly stated, “The little jacket never works, I’m sorry.”
Conversely, supporters of her cardigan expressed nostalgia, with one admirer stating, “I like it, very reminiscent of 90s/2000s red carpets.” Another wrote, “I loveeee this look,” while a third echoed, “It’s so cute, stop, I love it.”
Stone commanded attention while posing for photos in her elegant ensemble, which showcased spaghetti straps and a column skirt. The sparkling cardigan, adorned with delicate beading, shimmered with her every movement. Her look was completed by glowy makeup and a chic hairstyle, featuring dewy skin, manicured eyebrows, and bronzed cheeks. Using the Louis Vuitton Ombres Eyeshadow Palette, she enhanced her eyelids with a shimmery pearly shade, complemented by mascara and eyeliner. Her lips were finished with a satin lipstick in the shade Beige Machina.
Notably, Stone debuted crimson red hair styled in loose waves, punctuated by strategic pinning for added volume, courtesy of Roz Air thickening and lift sprays.

At this year’s awards, Stone was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her role in Bugonia. The accolade ultimately went to Hamnet star Jessie Buckley.
Reflecting on her experiences during the filming of Bugonia, Stone has spoken candidly about her decision to shave her head. In August 2025, she told Vogue, "No better feeling in the world… The first shower when you’ve shaved your head? Oh my God, it’s amazing.”
However, she also revealed emotional moments during the process, sharing that she cried in her trailer before the shave. The experience resonated uniquely for her, as she reminisced about her mother, Krista Stone, who lost her hair during treatment for breast cancer. "She actually did something brave. I’m just shaving my head,” Stone explained, noting her mother’s envy at her opportunity to experience the transformation.
After growing her hair back, Stone made headlines again at the 2025 Golden Globes, debuting a pixie cut. She expressed a desire for her hair to be even shorter, saying, “I was bummed I wasn’t going out with it… Just straight-up bald. I think that would have been fun.”
