Emily In Paris Star Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu Takes on Her First Role as Producer in a Morocco-Set Action Thriller
EXCLUSIVE: Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, known for her role in the popular Netflix series Emily in Paris, is poised to make her producing debut through her company, Mariri Productions. The actress will also star in an upcoming action-thriller set in Morocco.
Currently in development, the untitled project will be produced alongside Eleonore Dailly and Edouard de Lachomette from Autopilot, a Paris and Los Angeles-based company recognized for films such as I’m Not An Easy Man, Dangerous Liaisons, and I Love America. Nicolas Derouet from ND et Fils will supervise the casting for the film.
Details regarding the plot remain undisclosed. Filming is set to commence in Morocco this fall. The screenplay is penned by Sam Boyer, who garnered the 2022 Academy Nicholl Fellowship for his action-thriller Ojek and was featured on the 2023 Black List for his kidnapping thriller Foragers.
Leroy-Beaulieu, celebrated for her portrayal of Sylvie Grateau in Emily in Paris, which has recently been renewed for a sixth season, is a seasoned French actress with additional credits including Call My Agent! and The Crown. As a producer, she aims to develop projects that highlight bold, mature female protagonists within an international context. She is represented by Heller Law and Anora.
Autopilot is represented by CAA and Felker Toczek Suddleson, while Boyer is represented by Range Media Partners and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
