Elizabeth Cullen and Sofia Rose to Star in ‘The Neverending Pillow Fort’
Elizabeth Cullen, known for her role in Elvis, and rising star Sofia Rose will headline The Neverending Pillow Fort, an animated feature inspired by Will Taylor’s children’s novel. Sola Media is launching international sales for the film at the Cannes Film Festival.
The cast also features renowned actors David Tennant (Doctor Who), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), Teresa Palmer (A Discovery of Witches), and Marsai Martin (Black-ish).
Currently in production in Australia, the film is directed by BAFTA nominee Allison Brownmoore (The Amazing Adventures of Awesome). The story centers on lifelong friends Maggie (Cullen) and Abby (Rose), whose bond is put to the test as Abby returns from camp, eager to embrace the realities of growing up and making new friends. When their pillow fort reveals a magical ability to transport them to different worlds, the girls embark on an adventure that strengthens their friendship. However, Maggie must face the challenge of accepting change as they explore unfamiliar places.
The screenplay is adapted by Dominic Morris and Gurinder Chadha, along with Paul Mayeda Berges. The film is produced by Crayola Studios, Alceon Entertainment Partners, Eclectik Vision, MIMO Studios, and Like A Photon Creative. Crayola Studios serves as both the producer and financier, with production support from Screen Queensland’s Post Digital and Visual rebate incentive.
Producers Kristen Souvlis and Nadine Bates represent Like a Photon Creative, while Cyma Zarghami and Madeira Ginley are associated with MIMO Studios. Executive producers include Rick Glankler and Kerry Crowley from Crayola Studios.
This collaboration reunites Sola Media with Like A Photon Creative and MIMO Studios, following their previous project, The Pout-Pout Fish, which featured Nick Offerman and Nina Oyama and was released in the U.S. earlier this year.
“Building on our successful collaboration with Like A Photon Creative and MIMO Studios for The Pout-Pout Fish, we are excited to partner again on this new project,” said Sola Media’s Managing Director, Solveig Langeland. “With the support of the beloved Crayola brand, we are convinced Maggie and Abby will not only explore pillow forts around the world but also connect kids and families watching the film worldwide.”
