American Cinema Editors Announces Nominees for 76th Annual Eddie Awards
The American Cinema Editors (ACE) has unveiled the nominees for its 76th annual Eddie Awards, set to take place next month. This year’s list showcases a wide array of cinematic talent, with categories honoring the best in film editing across various genres.
Leading the competition for the prestigious Best Edited Feature Film (Drama, Theatrical) award are the editors of four films nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars: F1, Hamnet, Sentimental Value, and Sinners, alongside Weapons. In the Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy, Theatrical) category, contenders include Bugonia, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and Wicked: For Good, all vying for recognition.
Winners will be announced during the ACE Eddie Awards ceremony on Friday, February 27, at UCLA’s Royce Hall.
In the Animated Feature category, nominees include editors from The Bad Guys, KPop Demon Hunters, and Zootopia 2. The Documentary Feature category highlights the works of editors behind Becoming Led Zeppelin, It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, John Candy: I Like Me, Ladies & Gentlemen: 50 Years of SNL Music, and The Perfect Neighbor.
Historically, the Eddie winner for theatrical drama has successfully transitioned to the Academy Award for Best Editing 14 out of 26 times following the 21st century, although this has occurred just once in the past five years, with Oppenheimer being the latest honoree. Previous winners include Wicked and Emilia Pérez, which took top honors at the 2025 Eddies, while Anora’s Sean Baker went on to claim the Oscar for Best Film Editing.
ACE has announced that a new category for Edited Shorts will be introduced for the 2026 Eddie Awards. Additionally, two-time Oscar-winning director Ang Lee will be honored with the 2026 Filmmaker of the Year award next month. The organization will also recognize Emmy-winning editor-director Arthur Forney and Oscar-nominated editor Robert Leighton with ACE Career Achievement awards. Kim Larson, Managing Director and Head of YouTube’s Creator and Gaming team, will accept the ACE Visionary Award on behalf of YouTube during the ceremony.
