Ed Sheeran Shows Off New Shaved-Head Look: Embracing a Fresh Start
Ed Sheeran has unveiled a dramatic new look, debuting a shaved head in his latest Instagram post, which he dubbed a “Life Update Dumpington.”
The 35-year-old singer of “Shivers” explained his decision in the post’s caption, stating, “Yes I’ve shaved my hair. I wanted to shave it to signify a fresh start. A lot of new beginnings in my life [at the moment].” He added that he personally “love[s]” his new hairstyle and is considering keeping it.
In addition to his new hairstyle, Sheeran shared that he has been recovering from shingles. “Wouldn’t recommend it, but on the mend now,” he reassured his followers, many of whom praised the buzzcut in the comments.
The four-time Grammy winner is currently on hiatus from his Loop Tour, which commenced in January and will continue through December. He expressed eagerness to resume performing, stating, “Can’t wait to get back cracking on that. See you lovely people there.”
This isn’t the first time Sheeran has surprised fans with a new look. In December, he showcased a 30-pound weight loss transformation in a cover shoot for *Men’s Health UK*, where he posed shirtless, revealing his toned physique. He noted that he undertook this fitness journey for his family, sharing daughters Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3, with wife Cherry Seaborn.
Sheeran credited a disciplined workout routine and reducing alcohol consumption for his transformation, stating, “It all came in at the same time of wanting to be a responsible dad, wanting to feel and look good.”
However, he expressed initial concerns about how his fans would respond to his new appearance on the magazine cover, saying, “I’m the guy people relate to, and I did think, ‘F–k, is it weird me being super in shape on a Men’s Health cover?’” He aimed to inspire others to achieve their fitness goals as part of this journey.
Sheeran has experienced a notable transformation over the years, previously sharing that he lost 50 pounds and quit smoking in 2019. As he continues to evolve both personally and professionally, fans remain supportive of his changes.
