DUI Suspect Involved in Collision with Semi-Truck in La Puente
Police Pursuit Ends in Crash in La Puente
LA PUENTE, Calif. – Two individuals were taken into custody Monday morning following a high-speed police chase that began in Hacienda Heights and culminated in a collision with a semi-truck in La Puente.
Authorities reported that the pursuit was initiated by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Industry station at 9:41 a.m. The chase targeted a suspect believed to be involved in reckless driving or driving under the influence (DUI).
After approximately two minutes, the suspect’s vehicle collided with the side of a big rig trailer at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Ardilla Avenue. SkyFOX footage showed the impact of the crash left both the driver and a passenger temporarily trapped inside the wreckage.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and successfully extricated the individuals from the vehicle. While the driver was apprehended without incident, the condition of the passenger remains unclear.
As of now, there is no information regarding the extent of injuries sustained by those involved in the crash.
