Driver Races Through LA River with Hood Raised
A high-speed pursuit involving a driver occurred early Friday morning in the Los Angeles area, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. The incident began around 2 a.m. on the 710 Freeway in the Bell area, where the driver veered off the road and entered the LA River, continuing alongside the freeway.
The pursuit escalated when the driver lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of the 710 Freeway and Rosemead Boulevard in El Monte. After spinning out, the driver attempted to escape on foot.
Deputies launched a search in a nearby grassy field and successfully apprehended the suspect shortly thereafter. The reasons for the initial pursuit remain unclear, but authorities reported that no injuries were sustained during the incident.
