Drew Comins’ Creative Engine Entertainment Partners with A24
Drew Comins Signs Exclusive Television Deal with A24
Emmy-nominated executive producer Drew Comins, known for his work on Yellowjackets, has entered into an exclusive, multi-year television deal with indie studio A24. This partnership will be executed through his production company, Creative Engine Entertainment.
Under the new contract, Comins will lead the development of series for streaming platforms, collaborating closely with his team at Creative Engine. Notable team members include Brandon Finkelstein, former CAA agent who joined as Vice President of Production and Development, and Caroline Kitzmiller, previously of Hartbeat, who has recently been appointed Director of Development.
Further expansion of Creative Engine’s television and other divisions is anticipated, with additional hires expected in the coming months.
Comins is transitioning from a first-look agreement at Fifth Season, which resulted in several high-profile projects, with more still in negotiation. His recent successes include Lena Dunham’s spy series Covers, with a commitment for a 20-week writers’ room at Netflix, as well as The Holdout, featuring Amy Adams for HBO, also sold with a similar writers’ room commitment. Other noteworthy projects include The Stowaway, starring Oscar Isaac, which has secured a script-to-series commitment at Apple TV; Hancock Park, featuring Regé-Jean Page, sold to Netflix in a competitive bidding environment; a reimagining of Dangerous Liaisons from Nicôle Lecky at Netflix UK; and Millennium, developed for HBO by writer Dave Harris and producer Malcolm Spellman.
Previously, Comins had a deal with eOne (now part of Lionsgate), where he developed and sold Yellowjackets. The series is set to begin production on its fourth and final season this year. Comins has earned two Emmy nominations for his role as executive producer for this Showtime series in the Outstanding Drama category.
In addition to his television projects, Comins served as executive producer for the 2022 Amazon Prime film All the Old Knives, starring Chris Pine.
