Dove Cameron and Damiano David are officially engaged, marking a new chapter in their relationship. The Disney Channel alum announced the news on social media on Saturday, January 3, after the couple had been together for two years.
Cameron, 29, shared an Instagram gallery celebrating the milestone with the caption, “My favourite part of being alive … happy new year.” David, 26, echoed the sentiment in his own post, stating, “It’s gonna be a beautiful year.” In the photos, Cameron shines in a red dress, proudly displaying her engagement ring as David gazes at her affectionately.
The engagement follows rumors that surfaced in October 2025, when the couple was spotted in Australia wearing matching outfits, with Cameron showing off a ring that sparked speculation about their relationship status, according to People.
Earlier in October, they had celebrated their second anniversary, with Cameron expressing her love on Instagram: “The 2 best years of my life. I am brought to tears at least once a week because life has become so beautiful with you in it. I love you in a way no words could ever express, but I will never stop trying. Buon anniversario amore mio.”
Cameron and David first met at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, where both were nominees for Best New Artist. Their paths crossed again at the following year’s ceremony. David later invited Cameron to a concert at Madison Square Garden, and from there, their relationship flourished.
Reflecting on their initial meeting, Cameron recalled, “It was very, very slow, cautious, feeling-out, interview-type questions for eight hours, before it was finally like, ‘OK, are we holding hands now?’”
She described David as “the kindest, most generous, most innocent, most giving person,” highlighting his genuine and sensitive nature.
