Dorinda Medley Steps In to Join E!’s ‘RHONY’ Reunion Series, Taking Over for Jill Zarin
The Real Housewives of New York City alum Dorinda Medley is set to join the cast of The Golden Life (working title), following the departure of Jill Zarin. Zarin was let go from the reunion series of former Bravo stars last week after facing backlash for racist comments made regarding Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
Medley joins a roster of previously announced cast members, including Kelly Bensimon, Countess Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and Ramona Singer. The series will transition from the vibrant streets of New York City to the sunny shores of Palm Beach, Florida, and is set to begin filming a ten-episode season this spring, produced by Blink49 Studios.
Following Zarin’s dismissal, Blink49 Studios issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to delivering the series in line with company standards and values, noting, “In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, we have decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life.”
The Golden Life will explore the interplay of friendships as the group manages various life milestones, including dating, family, and career developments.
Medley expressed her enthusiasm about the new venture, stating, “Well, the rumors are true! I will be joining the women on The Golden Life in Palm Beach. After decades of friendship and navigating life’s ups and downs together, it will be nice to reconnect with my ‘sisters.’ I am so excited to celebrate and share the next chapter of our lives.”
Having appeared in the first six seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City, Medley joined full-time in season 7 in 2015, before departing in 2020.
The Golden Life is produced by Blink49 Studios, with executive producers Tara Long, Nadine Rajabi, Mark Ford, and Ben Megargel at the helm.
