BTS fans are known for their fervent loyalty, both to their beloved artists and to the things they critique. On Wednesday, March 4, producer Diplo, who contributed to five tracks on the group’s upcoming album *ARIRANG*, urged ARMY to go easy on him upon the album’s release.
Accompanying an Instagram post featuring a nostalgic photo with BTS members Jung Kook and RM, as well as screenshots of the *ARIRANG* tracklist that credits his involvement, Diplo wrote, “ARMY please be nice … I made 5 of these.”
In addition, he shared a video of a memorable moment from the 2020 Grammys, where he, the Bangtan Boys, Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Mason Ramsey performed “Old Town Road.”
As reported on March 3, Diplo’s contributions to *ARIRANG* include the tracks “Body to Body,” “FYA,” “One More Night,” “Like Animals,” and the closing piece, “Into the Sun.” This ambitious project features a total of 14 songs, with contributions from Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Mike WiLL Made-It, and Ryan Tedder. Notably, each member of BTS, including Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, and V, played a role in producing the album.
Diplo had expressed excitement about his involvement in *ARIRANG* well before the tracklist was unveiled. In a February interview with *TMZ*, he stated that BTS’ upcoming album was poised to “shock the world,” adding, “I just feel so lucky … to link up with a group like that and have them trust me and do some awesome music.”
The anticipation for new BTS music has been building, putting added pressure on Diplo and everyone involved in creating *ARIRANG*. This album will mark BTS’s first full-length release since their 2020 record *Be*, which not only topped the Billboard 200 but also yielded multiple No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Following *Be*, the group took a hiatus to focus on solo projects and fulfill military service obligations.
