Delta Flight Declares Emergency During Descent to Dallas
LOS ANGELES – A Delta Air Lines flight encountered a technical issue on Thursday while en route from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Delta Flight 521, carrying 131 passengers and six crew members, declared an emergency after experiencing a loss of electrical power in the cabin as the aircraft approached its destination.
During the descent, the cabin lights went out temporarily, causing concern among those on board. However, the flight crew was able to promptly restore power and maintain control of the aircraft. Delta officials confirmed that essential cockpit systems remained operational, ensuring the “safety of flight.”
Following established protocols, the pilots declared an emergency in order to secure priority landing status. The aircraft made a safe landing and taxied to the gate without incident.
A spokesperson for Delta Air Lines stated, “The safety of our customers and people comes before all else, and we sincerely apologize for the experience."
The aircraft will remain on the ground in Dallas to undergo a comprehensive evaluation of its electrical systems.
