On April 26, Shedeur Sanders, the youngest son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, was selected by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. This selection came after Shedeur notably went undrafted in the initial four rounds.
The late pick surprised both Shedeur and his father. Leading up to the draft, the Sanders family celebrated with a party on the event’s first day. Footage shared on social media captured Deion’s disappointment when the New Orleans Saints opted for Kelvin Banks Jr. instead of his son.
On the same day, Shilo Sanders, Deion’s middle son, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Deion Sanders first became a father in 1992 with the birth of his daughter, Deiondra, followed by their son, Deion Jr., the next year. He shares his three youngest children—Shilo, Shedeur, and daughter Shelomi—with his second wife, Pilar Biggers-Sanders.
