UCLA Hosts Event Showcasing Composers and Songwriters from Popular Television Shows
On May 6, UCLA’s Royce Hall became a hub for talent as composers and songwriters from eleven prominent television shows gathered to discuss their work. The event featured an impressive orchestral accompaniment, enhancing the presentations of their scores and songs in front of an audience of industry voters.
Among the notable composers were Finneas O’Connell from Beef and Chris Bacon from Wednesday, both associated with Netflix. Prime Video was represented by Christopher Lennertz and Matt Bowen from The Boys, along with Tyler Strickland from John Candy: I Like Me. Breton Vivian brought his work from Paramount+’s The Madison, while Apple TV featured Amanda Jones from Murderbot and Siddhartha Khosla from Imperfect Women. Jeff Beal showcased his composition for Peacock’s All Her Fault, and Jeff Russo represented FX with his work on Alien: Earth.
The songwriting segment included contributions from David Archuleta, along with co-writer/singer Sophie Rose and co-writer/producer Michael Blum from Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. Gavin Brivik and songwriter Andrew Bird also made an appearance, performing the first original song from HBO Max’s Emmy-winning series, The Pitt.
