David Davoli’s Lucaville Global Partners with Italy’s Titanus for Exciting New Projects, Kicking Off with a Heist Comedy Remake of ‘The Treasure Of San Gennaro’ Featuring Lawrence Bender
Lucaville Global Forms Joint Venture with Titanus Production for New Film Projects
Lucaville Global, the newly established production company led by former Anonymous Content executive David Davoli, has announced a joint venture with the Italian independent studio Titanus Production. The partnership aims to develop four new projects, including a collaboration with acclaimed producer Lawrence Bender.
Under the terms of the agreement, the joint venture, Lucaville Italy, will acquire a minority equity stake in Titanus, while Titanus will reciprocate. This collaboration will leverage Titanus’s extensive 120-year-old library of intellectual property. Titanus will contribute its production and financing infrastructure, while Lucaville Global will focus on sourcing projects and talent from both the U.S. and international markets, as well as offering expertise in packaging, financing, strategy, and distribution.
Among the projects in development is a reimagining of Dino Risi’s cult classic The Treasure of San Gennaro, a heist comedy set in Naples. Bender, an eight-time Oscar winner known for his work on Pulp Fiction, will produce alongside Kevin Brown, recognized for his role in Trumbo. Additionally, Lucaville Italy is working on a psychological thriller based on Dario Argento’s directorial debut, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, and a serialized reboot of Palermo Milan, an action drama centered on a security team’s escort of a key ‘Ndrangheta informant.
Lucaville Global is also adapting the Norwegian coming-of-age drama series Kids in Crime into an Italian feature film as part of the joint venture.
The collaboration was formalized through a deal signed by Titanus Co-CEOs Massimo Veneziano and Maria Grazia Saccà, alongside Davoli.
Davoli, who departed from Anonymous Content last year to launch Lucaville Global in New York, aims to work with filmmakers, creators, and independent artists to develop international projects that transcend traditional production models. He expressed excitement about the Titanus partnership, stating, “The opportunity to work with Massimo, Maria Grazia, and the Lombardo family to unlock that catalogue and develop it into premium content for global audiences is one of the most meaningful of my career.”
Veneziano and Saccà highlighted Davoli’s international expertise, noting, “Together we will develop content that is authentically Italian and designed to travel.”
The announcement coincided with the opening day of the Series Mania forum in Lille, marking a significant moment for Lucaville Global and Titanus as they embark on this ambitious venture.
