EXCLUSIVE: Actor Dave Franco, known for his roles in Now You See Me and Together, is set to star alongside Sophie Wilde of Talk To Me and Babygirl in the upcoming alien invasion thriller Soon You Will Be Gone And Possibly Eaten.
Egor Abramenko, the filmmaker behind A24’s horror project Altar and the Russian sci-fi film Sputnik, will direct the movie. The screenplay is crafted by Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins, who previously collaborated on Hulu’s Hellraiser and Searchlight’s The Night House.
The film’s script draws inspiration from a short story by Nick Antosca, the creator and showrunner of Apple TV’s forthcoming Cape Fear series, featuring Javier Bardem and Amy Adams. Production is scheduled for this summer.
Soon You Will Be Gone And Possibly Eaten is being developed by Anonymous Content, Eat the Cat, and Divide/Conquer, with production led by Anonymous Content, Dawn Olmstead, Anton, Eat the Cat, and Divide/Conquer. Anton is fully financing the film and managing worldwide rights, with pre-sales continuing at Cannes. Domestic sales will be handled by Anton, Anonymous Content, and WME Independent.
The narrative follows Rob and Sabile, a young engaged couple who retreat to a secluded mountain resort for their wedding. What begins as a joyous ceremony among family takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of uninvited guests. Additional casting is currently underway.
The film features producers Sébastien Raybaud (Greenland 2) for Anton; Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat (Murdaugh: A Death in the Family); Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks for Divide/Conquer (M3GAN); and Nick Shumaker for Anonymous Content, along with Dawn Olmstead.
