Damson Idris Takes the Helm as Star and Executive Producer of Netflix’s ‘The Lords’ Day’ Adaptation
Damson Idris will star and serve as an executive producer in a new Netflix series titled The Lords’ Day.
The series follows British spy Harry Jones, played by Idris, as he navigates a lockdown during the State Opening of Parliament. As tensions rise, loyalties are challenged, and sacrifices come into play, the story unfolds with a desperate fight for survival that raises the stakes for all involved. The central question remains: Can Harry utilize his skills to become the nation’s savior?
The Lords’ Day is based on the novel by Michael Dobbs, who is also known for authoring House of Cards.
Executive producers Jane Tranter and Dan McCulloch represent Bad Wolf, while Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley—known for their work on Spooks, Humans, and Better—will take on the roles of lead writers and executive producers. Ben Chanan, director of The Capture, will also serve as an executive producer.

The series will consist of six episodes, with production slated to begin soon in the UK.
Idris was last featured in Apple’s film about F1 racing. The British-Nigerian actor gained recognition for his portrayal of Franklin in FX’s Snowfall. He is also set to appear in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s upcoming adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone for Paramount and has signed on to play the iconic jazz musician Miles Davis in the forthcoming film Miles & Juliette, directed by Bill Pohlad.
