Daisy Kelliher Shares Insights on Below Deck, Her New Podcast, and Must-Have Sunscreen for Charter Trips
Daisy Kelliher, a beloved figure from Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht, is embarking on an exciting new venture. She is collaborating with former charter guest and globe-trotting director Marc MacNamara to launch a podcast titled Yacht Mess, set to debut this month in partnership with Studio 71. The podcast promises a blend of scandal, entertainment, and the truly unbelievable moments from yachting, travel, and pop culture. Listeners can expect unfiltered discussions ranging from celebrity mishaps to pricey blunders in the luxury lifestyle.
In a recent interview, Kelliher shared insights about what audiences can anticipate from Yacht Mess. “I had previously put out a Q&A on Instagram, and someone asked me about podcasting. I thought, ‘Yes, this is definitely a space I wanted to explore,’” she explained. “A previous charter guest reached out and pitched the idea of creating a podcast together. We’ve been piecing it together over the past six months and are excited for everyone to join the journey.”
Kelliher described her dynamic with MacNamara, stating, “Mark is definitely the prepper. I am definitely the winger, which is great because we work well together. He’s really the brains behind the concept, planning what the per-episode costs will be. Our podcast will be lighthearted, with plenty of micro-games and discussions about various topics—whether it’s pop culture or my experiences on Below Deck. No topic is off-limits, and I often enjoy going into recording sessions without prior knowledge, as it adds an element of surprise for both me and the listeners.”
Addressing her approach to self-care, Kelliher emphasized the importance of sleep. “I am crazy about my sleep! If I don’t sleep, others get hungry, and it affects my ability to work effectively,” she noted. “For me, sleep is essential, so I sneak in naps whenever I can. While others enjoy time off, I often choose to go to bed early—that’s my main form of self-care.”
Kelliher also acknowledged her enthusiasm for other self-pampering activities, which include occasional trips to the nail salon and massages. “Massages are a big one! Everyone has their vice, but for me, sleep comes first…with massages close behind,” she said.
Reflecting on her skincare routine, Kelliher mentioned her efforts to reverse past sun damage and her enjoyment of different products. “I recently tried a new SPF 50 oil from Sol De Janeiro that dries quickly and feels lightweight,” she shared. “For my face, I am currently impressed with a Korean brand called Beauty of Joseon, as it doesn’t leave a heavy feeling.”
