Construction Workers Leap Between Roofs During ICE Raid in Los Angeles County
Workers Escape ICE Raid in Montebello, California
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – A dramatic scene unfolded recently at a construction site in Montebello, where two construction workers were captured on doorbell camera footage escaping from agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The video, shared by Eddie Huerta via Storyful, shows armed ICE agents entering the site, prompting immediate action from the workers. One worker quickly grabbed a ladder and ascended to the roof, while his colleague leaped from one rooftop to another, attempting to evade capture.
As of January 15, the fate of these workers remains unclear, with no arrests reported in connection with the raid at this particular site.
The context of this incident is rooted in the broader trend of nationwide ICE raids that have intensified since the beginning of President Donald Trump’s second term. These operations have sparked widespread protests and incidents of violence involving ICE agents over the past year.
The community continues to grapple with the implications of these raids as concerns about immigrant rights and safety escalate.
