Colleen Hoover Shares Personal Battle with Cancer While Writing ‘It Ends With Us’ and ‘Regretting You’
Colleen Hoover Reveals Cancer Treatment Journey
Author and producer Colleen Hoover, widely known for her works including It Ends with Us and Regretting You, has shared that she is undergoing treatment for cancer. In a recent social media post, Hoover revealed that she has one day of radiation therapy left.
“Second to last day of radiation,” she posted on Instagram Stories. “I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @Texas.Oncology, but they’ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”
In December, Hoover disclosed her cancer diagnosis via a Facebook post but did not specify the type. She mentioned that her treatment plan included radiation therapy, while chemotherapy would not be necessary. This treatment journey has impacted her promotional efforts for her recent work, causing her to step back from certain events.
“I’m super bummed, but am having an unavoidable surgery and can’t travel for a while,” she wrote in an October Instagram update, expressing her disappointment at missing the Regretting You premiere and other important engagements.
Hoover later explained that she began noticing health issues during filming in Canada for her upcoming project, Reminds of Him. Upon returning home, she received her cancer diagnosis, stating that the disease had been removed through surgery and would require radiation.
Reflecting on her experience, Hoover mentioned the emotional toll it took. “While it felt huge and scary for a bit, I just wasn’t ready to share with anyone until I knew what the outcome would be,” she added.
Looking ahead, her new book, Woman Down, is set for release on January 13. Despite her health challenges, Hoover indicated that she remains hopeful about holding at least one book signing, though the details are still uncertain.
In her post, Hoover reassured her followers of her well-being. She expressed relief over her treatment process, emphasizing the importance of listening to one’s body when something feels off.
