Christina Aguilera’s Daughter Asks Her to Skip the Makeup: A Sweet Moment of Honesty
Christina Aguilera recently shared insights into her family dynamics during an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show. The pop icon revealed that her daughter, Summer, who is 10 years old, prefers her mother in a more natural state, rather than the glamorous looks Aguilera typically showcases.
“[It’s] no-makeup mama. As soon as I’m done shooting or whatever, she’s like, ‘OK can you take that off? Now it’s time to be cozy,’” Aguilera, 44, explained. She also noted that Summer enjoys her freckles, often asking, “Am I going to have freckles someday?” Aguilera remarked, “She’s just, No. 1 mama fan.”
Discussing motherhood, Aguilera emphasized the lessons learned through her children’s perspectives, describing the experience as subjective and humbling. “They see every side of me,” she said, reflecting on the journey of parenthood.
Aguilera also mentioned Summer’s role in her upcoming film, Christina Aguilera: Christmas in Paris, set to release on December 14 and December 21. When questioned about her daughter’s potential future in entertainment, Aguilera confirmed Summer has a natural inclination toward the arts, including acting. “She’s such an artist … she paints, she draws, she makes beautiful masks and pieces … she’s just so creative,” Aguilera commented. She added that while she supports her children’s passions, she has made a conscious decision not to impose any specific path on them.
Additionally, Aguilera spoke about her relationship with her 17-year-old son, Max. She described enjoying memorable moments together when she headlines festivals, noting, “We get to, like, really connect. I get cool mom points for that.”
Aguilera typically keeps her family’s life private, but she recently provided a glimpse into their adventures on Instagram. In November, she shared a family photo from a vacation, captioning it “Unseen bits.”
Earlier this year, Aguilera and her fiancé, Matt Rutler, attended the Breakthrough Prize ceremony in Los Angeles, marking a rare public date night since their engagement in 2014. They met while working on Burlesque in 2010, a connection Aguilera cherishes deeply. She stated in a previous interview, “He’s the love of my life, and I adore him.”
