Christian Slater Shares What His Fame Really Means to His Daughters

Christian Slater’s children are not perturbed by his fame. During the 2025 Gotham Awards, the 56-year-old star of Blink Twice spoke with PEOPLE about how his children, particularly his son and daughter Lena, perceive his celebrity status. He remarked that his fame means “nothing” to them, emphasizing, “they’re the greatest.”

“My older daughter, I suppose, has some sense of it. But it means nothing to her, and it means nothing to my younger daughter, too,” he stated. “It’s meaningless, but they’re the greatest. It was really nice to have them there.”

As a father of four, Slater has two older children, son Jaden, 25, and daughter Eliana, 23, from his previous marriage to Ryan Haddon. In June, he celebrated a significant milestone in his career with his family present by his side.

The actor received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 9, surrounded by his wife and daughters Eliana and Lena. In his acceptance speech, he expressed deep appreciation for his children, stating, “I have amazing and wonderful children [and] I can’t imagine my life without them. They are the greatest.” He concluded by acknowledging his wife’s support and the role of his family in his journey.

In August 2024, prior to the birth of his youngest child, Slater shared insights about fatherhood at this stage of his life. “The whole thing is different. I’m certainly a lot more present and I just love it,” he explained. He reflected on his initial fears and confusion in earlier parenting experiences, saying, “Now, it’s all I really think about, and all I really care about, and all I want to be around. I’m happy to be in that situation.”

Months later, ahead of the premiere of Dexter: Original Sin, Slater told Fox News Digital of his preference for spending time at home with his family. He reflected on his past, stating, “Back in the 90s, it was like all I could wish for was just to be somewhere else all the time. Now I really like to be home.”

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in December 2024, Slater recounted the amusing reaction of his daughter Lena upon learning she would become an older sibling. “When we told her that my wife was pregnant, she asked when he was going to come. And we said, ‘Well, about six more months he’s going to be here.’ She goes, ‘Okay good. I have time to build a wall.’” Slater humorously noted that she was ready to protect her toys.
