Chris Pratt Shares How Hawaii Storms Affected the ‘Jurassic World’ Set
A piece of cinematic history was lost during the recent storms that ravaged Hawaii last month. Chris Pratt revealed that the bungalow belonging to his character Owen Grady in the 2015 film "Jurassic World" was destroyed when a tree fell during the severe weather.
Pratt shared the news in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, describing the incident while viewing an image of the location. "I just got a text from my friend who lives on this ranch, Jason Morgan," he said. "A storm came in yesterday, and this tree fell down on top of this [Owen’s bungalow]. That was destroyed yesterday. Sorry, Jason.”
This revelation comes on the heels of fellow actor Jason Momoa’s announcement that he and his family were compelled to evacuate from O’ahu’s North Shore, as the storm brought the worst flooding the region has seen in 20 years.
In a recent Instagram Story, Momoa expressed his concern for those affected by the storms. “I got my family with me,” he stated. “We got out of the North Shore, a lot of people have been asking. Our power went off. We’re safe for now, but there’s a lot of people who weren’t, so we’re sending all our love.” He added, “The North Shore is pretty gnarly right now. So hopefully everyone’s safe and getting out. Stay safe out there.”
According to a report from the University of Hawaii, the storms resulted in an astonishing 2 trillion gallons of rainfall over a period of 14 days. The extreme weather conditions continue to have a significant impact on the local community and environment.
