### Kansas City Chiefs Emphasize Respect for Kelce and Swift’s Relationship

Kansas City Chiefs President Mark Donovan addressed the growing attention surrounding tight end Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift, emphasizing the franchise’s commitment to respecting their relationship. “It’s a relationship. We’re not going to monetize it, we’re not going to go out there and go crazy,” he stated, highlighting a deliberate approach to managing the couple’s very public romance.

In a recent interview, Donovan praised Swift, calling her “a phenomenon” and a “special kind of person.” He conveyed the team’s determination to honor Kelce’s personal life amid the spotlight. “Early on, I told Travis, ‘Look, we are going to treat you and your relationship with the same respect that we treat any other player or coach’s relationship,'” he said.

Donovan pointed out that the Chiefs do not display Swift on the video boards at Arrowhead Stadium, in stark contrast to many broadcasts that feature her prominently during games. “For a couple of years, all those shots you see in the stadium… we never showed Taylor on our big boards,” he noted. “It was respectful. We’re not going to do that.”

The relationship sparked public interest in September 2023 when Swift first attended one of Kelce’s games, leading to the couple confirming their romance in October. The engagement announcement came in August 2025, further solidifying their relationship status.

Despite the scrutiny surrounding their romance, Donovan expressed confidence in Kelce’s professionalism and focus. “He’s all about the team,” Donovan remarked, stating that the additional attention has been beneficial rather than distracting. “Our locker room has the maturity, leadership, and respect to handle it.”

In a gesture of solidarity after the engagement announcement, the Kansas City Chiefs publicly congratulated the couple, welcoming Swift into the Chiefs family with an enthusiastic message on social media: “Today is a fairytale ❤️💍 Congrats to Travis and Taylor—we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family!”
