Original Tommy’s Celebrates 80 Years of Iconic Burgers in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES – Original Tommy’s marks a significant milestone this Friday, celebrating 80 years of serving its beloved chili cheeseburgers.
To honor the occasion, the famed Southern California burger chain will offer its signature chili cheeseburgers for just 80 cents, available from noon to 8 p.m. The original location, established by Tom Koulax on May 15, 1946, remains in the Westlake District at the intersection of Beverly and Rampart boulevards.
The family-owned business has expanded significantly since its inception, now operating 32 locations across Southern California and Las Vegas.
Cynthia Koulax, daughter of the founder, remarked, “It’s a wonderful legacy my father left behind.” The Koulax family expressed their deep connection to Los Angeles and their commitment to preserving this legacy for future generations. Another family member noted, “We’ve been able to connect emotionally with our fans one-on-one with these pop-ups that we’ve been doing the past couple of weeks.”
As Original Tommy’s reaches this impressive milestone, it affirms its status as a staple of Southern California’s culinary landscape, cherished by generations of burger enthusiasts.
