CBS Greenlights ‘Eternally Yours’ Comedy Series from ‘Ghosts’ Creators, While ‘The Tillbrooks’ Gets Canceled
CBS has finalized its scripted programming lineup ahead of the announcement of its 2026-27 schedule, set to be revealed next week. On Thursday, the network greenlit the comedy pilot Eternally Yours for series production, while opting not to move forward with The Tillbrooks (previously titled Regency).
With this decision, CBS will air fewer than four comedy series in a single season for the first time in a long time. Eternally Yours will join the network’s two returning half-hour series: the single-camera comedy Ghosts and the multi-camera show Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. In addition to not proceeding with The Tillbrooks, CBS also canceled the freshman series DMV, while the veteran sitcom The Neighborhood is set to conclude.
The single-camera comedy, Eternally Yours, features Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards in leading roles and is produced by Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, along with CBS Studios. Set in a contemporary context, Eternally Yours is designed as a potential companion to Ghosts, sharing a supernatural theme and a filming location in Montreal.

Eternally Yours was favored over The Tillbrooks, a multi-camera sitcom from Tara Hernandez featuring Kate Walsh and Rhys Darby. Sources indicated that Eternally Yours performed better during the network screenings held last week.
This latest decision mirrors last year’s scenario when CBS faced a similar choice between a single-camera comedy pilot from CBS Studios, DMV, and a multi-camera pilot from WBTV, Zarna, ultimately selecting the CBS entry once more. Notably, both successful pilots, Eternally Yours and DMV, are directed and executive produced by Trent O’Donnell, who also worked on Ghosts.
By passing on The Tillbrooks, CBS aims to achieve a balanced lineup in its first upfront season since parent company Paramount Global’s acquisition by Skydance. The network anticipates a decrease in the number of comedy series—from four this season to three next season—while introducing two new drama series, Cupertino and Einstein. Only one current drama, Watson, will not return for the 2026-27 season.
The series order for Eternally Yours caps a lengthy development process that began two years ago when the show was prioritized at CBS Studios. After managing scheduling conflicts with Port and Wiseman while they worked on Ghosts, CBS initiated a development room for the project in August 2024, followed by a pilot order in July 2025.
Eternally Yours centers on Charles (Weeks) and Liz (Edwards), a vampire couple whose once-passionate romance has dwindled after 500 years together. Residing in modern-day Seattle with their unconventional coven, the couple finds their relationship strained until their daughter’s earnest human boyfriend enters the picture, challenging them to reconsider whether their love can endure the test of time.
The series also stars Helen J Shen, Jaren Lewison, and Parker Young, with Rose Abdoo, Tristan Michael Brown, and Shylo Molina rounding out the main cast.
Production is spearheaded by Port and Wiseman, alongside executive producers Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang.
