CBS Announces Part 2 of the 30th Anniversary Reunion Special for ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Featuring Unaired Footage
CBS has announced a follow-up to the successful Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Special Reunion. The new installment, titled Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Special Reunion Pt. 2, is set to air on December 22 at 8 PM on CBS and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
Like its predecessor, the second part will be hosted by Everybody Loves Raymond star Ray Romano and the show’s creator, Phil Rosenthal.
The upcoming special promises never-before-seen footage recorded in front of a live audience during the original reunion, which featured surviving main cast members of the Emmy-winning family comedy: Romano (Ray Barone), Patricia Heaton (Debra Barone), Brad Garrett (Robert Barone), Monica Horan (Amy MacDougall-Barone), Madylin Sweeten (Ally Barone), and Sullivan Sweeten (Michael Barone), all reuniting on a recreated set from the show.
Viewers can also expect pre-taped interviews with writers, producers, and guest stars that were not included in the first special, along with classic clips and outtakes from Everybody Loves Raymond.
Romano and Rosenthal have recorded new wraparound segments for Part 2, sharing reflections on their experiences while filming the reunion. Romano remarked on a segment that was omitted from the first special, saying, “The one thing that was hard for Phil and I to cut was we did a little segment about our fathers. My father and his father both did guest spots together as two buddies from the Elks Lodge. We showed a clip of them, and we talked about them. In the first cut of the show, they were in it. But then, when we realized we got to cut 20 minutes, we had to get rid of that, but hopefully that can get in on the rerun.” Romano’s father, Albert, passed away in 2010, while Rosenthal’s father, Max, died in 2021.
The producers also captured Romano and Rosenthal’s reactions as they first revisited the recreated Raymond set, a moment that will feature in Part 2 but did not make the cut of the first special. Additionally, Romano’s banter with the audience—lasting about seven minutes—was edited down to just two minutes for the initial airing.
Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion, which originally aired on November 24 and had an encore presentation on November 28, attracted 10.08 million Live+7 multi-platform viewers across broadcasts and streaming platforms.
Part 2 will be produced by Fulwell Entertainment with executive producers including Romano, Rosenthal, Rory Rosegarten, Eddy Yablans, Gabe Turner, Emma Conway, and Eric Pankowski.
