Casandra “Cassie” Ventura has shifted her focus to her growing family following her testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ criminal trial.
In May 2025, the “Me & U” singer, recognized as a key witness for the prosecution, testified during Combs’ federal criminal trial. Her past relationship with the rapper has resurfaced in public discourse with the recent release of the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
During her testimony in New York City, Cassie detailed her decade-long relationship with Diddy, providing graphic accounts of the alleged abuse she suffered, including accusations of forced sexual encounters and a brutal assault.
Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, who married her in 2019, was present to support her during the courtroom proceedings. Together, they are raising three children, including their daughters Frankie and Sunny.
After separating from Diddy in 2018, Cassie filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023, alleging rape and sexual trafficking. She and Diddy settled the case within 24 hours.
The lawsuit prompted a series of additional legal actions against Diddy, leading to a federal investigation. The rapper was arrested in September 2024 and indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution.
On July 2, Diddy was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges but was convicted on two counts related to transportation for prostitution. He was sentenced to a 50-month prison term in October 2025.
This timeline reflects Cassie’s journey from her marriage to her impactful testimony during Diddy’s trial.

In November 2023, Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy, alleging a decade-long “cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking.” She accused him of rape following her attempts to leave him in September 2018.
Diddy’s attorney at the time dismissed the allegations as “offensive and outrageous.”
The day following the lawsuit’s filing, both parties reached a settlement described as an effort “to resolve this matter amicably.”
In May 2024, CNN disclosed surveillance footage from 2016 showing an incident involving Diddy and Cassie in a hotel.
Following the footage’s release, Fine publicly supported Cassie, stating that true masculinity involves protecting women and denouncing acts of violence against them.
Testimony at Diddy’s Federal Trial
Cassie, who was eight months pregnant at the time, testified for the prosecution at Diddy’s trial in May 2025.
She described being controlled by Diddy and coerced into participating in explicit sexual performances, referred to as “Freak Offs,” that were conducted under the influence of drugs.
“The longest was 4 days or even more with breaks,” Cassie recounted. “Then I was recovering from the drugs, dehydration — just trying to stay awake all the time.”
She also claimed Diddy recorded these performances, using the footage as a means of blackmail.
